Transmission Engineer

Location: Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, Hybrid Schedule

About the Role:

We are seeking aTransmission Engineerto lead the design, analysis, and optimization ofhigh-voltage overhead and underground transmission systemsforsolar and energy storage (BESS) interconnect projects. In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, external partners, and contractors to ensure the seamless transition of designs from concept to construction, driving project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform

    civil, structural, and electrical design reviews

    for high-voltage transmission systems.

  • Evaluate and optimize

    line routes, structure layouts, BOMs, grounding systems, and fiber optic cabling.

  • Support

    MV collection system designs

    and

    substation structure and foundation assessments.

  • Provide

    technical guidance

    for project proposals, cost estimation, and procurement activities.

  • Conduct

    QA/QC reviews and site visits

    to ensure designs meet engineering and construction standards.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to

    streamline designs

    and

    enhance constructability.

What You Bring:

  • 4-6 years of experience

    in

    utility-scale transmission

    and

    collection system design.

  • Bachelor’s degree in

    Civil or Electrical Engineering

    (ABET-accredited preferred).

  • Proficiency in

    AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office, and industry-specific software (e.g.,

    PLSCADD, PLS-Pole, RISA 3D, SAG10).

  • Strong knowledge of

    NESC, NEC, ASCE Substation Design Guidelines, and

    utility interconnection standards.

  • Excellent

    analytical, problem-solving, and

    communication

    skills with a collaborative mindset.

  • Experience in

    utility-scale solar/PV

    and

    substation design

    is a plus.
