Role: PV Design Engineer

Location: Vermont

Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000

They are seeking a skilled PV Design Engineer for their Vermont office. This role is crucial for project success, involving the design and engineering of commercial and community solar installations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of PV systems, AutoCAD mastery, and experience developing solar projects. The ideal candidate should have the following:

  • 4 years of experience working on commercial or community solar projects, including experience with site assessment, energy modeling, and system optimization

  • Mastery of AutoCAD, including proficiency in creating detailed site layouts, single-line diagrams, and electrical schematics for PV systems

  • Experience in the development of solar projects, from initial feasibility studies and permitting to final design and construction oversight

  • Proficiency in PVsyst or similar solar design software, with the ability to accurately model system performance and optimize energy production

  • Experience with process automation using scripting languages (e.g., Python) or other tools to improve design workflows and efficiency is a plus

  • Knowledge of NEC codes and other relevant industry standards for PV system design and installation

  • Familiarity with various PV module and inverter technologies, including their performance characteristics and applications

  • Electrical Engineering degree preferred, with a focus on power systems and renewable energy technologies
