We are seeking a Senior PV Engineer with extensive experience in utility-scale solar projects (100MW+), substations, and transmission systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and execution of large-scale photovoltaic (PV) projects, ensuring efficient and reliable energy generation.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the electrical design and engineering of utility-scale PV projects (100MW+), ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Provide technical expertise on substation and transmission interconnections, including power system studies and grid compliance.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including developers, EPCs, utilities, and regulatory bodies.
Conduct electrical system analyses, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, grounding, and voltage drop studies.
Support procurement by evaluating electrical components, reviewing vendor specifications, and ensuring compatibility with system requirements.
Participate in site visits as needed (typically a few times per quarter) to oversee construction, testing, and commissioning.
Work closely with project managers to ensure designs align with budget, timeline, and operational goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of experience in utility-scale solar PV engineering.
Strong background in substation design, transmission systems, and interconnection processes.
Proficiency in power system analysis tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, SKM, CYMCAP, or similar software.
Familiarity with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and other relevant codes and standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; PE license is a plus.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
