We're looking for a Senior Medium Voltage Engineer PE to lead the design and execution of cutting-edge renewable energy projects across the U.S. and internationally. In this full-time role, you’ll manage electrical design, collaborate with clients and contractors, and ensure excellence throughout each project’s lifecycle. Your work will include designing and reviewing MV systems like SLDs, equipment specs, grounding, and relay programming. With 10-12 active projects at different stages, your adaptability and technical expertise will be key.

You'll mentor engineering teams, perform complex analyses, and use tools like AutoCAD, Pvsyst, and ETAP to deliver top-tier solutions for PV and battery storage systems. Responsibilities Include:

  • Site Assessments: Conduct evaluations to gather data and determine project feasibility.

  • Subconsultant Coordination: Oversee subconsultants to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.

  • Team Oversight: Lead and mentor engineering teams, aligning efforts with project objectives.

  • Equipment Research: Identify and recommend optimal equipment solutions for project needs.

  • Task Management: Administer and delegate engineering responsibilities to maintain efficiency.

  • Procurement: Manage equipment selection, specification, and purchasing processes.

  • AutoCAD Design: Develop and refine detailed project drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Commissioning Reports: Prepare documentation to confirm system performance and compliance.

  • Peer Review: Ensure design accuracy and adherence to standards through thorough reviews.

  • Client Engagement: Serve as a liaison, maintaining communication and strong client relationships.

  • Engineering Analysis: Execute detailed calculations and analysis to support project execution.

  • Field Inspections: Verify compliance of construction activities with design specifications.

  • Energy Modeling: Optimize system performance using advanced energy modeling tools.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional Engineering license

  • Experience in 480V – 34kV electrical design, wire sizing, and equipment specs

  • Expertise in transformer specs, grounding design, and relay schematic design

  • Proficiency in ETAP studies (ampacity, grounding, coordination, arc fault)

  • Experience with MV field inspections and commissioning

  • Skilled in managing engineering teams

  • Proficient with AutoCAD, engineering analysis, and modeling software for PV and battery storage

  • Strong understanding of energy systems (solar, power, and battery storage)

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality work

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)

  • Licensed Engineer-In-Training / Professional Engineer

Preferred

  • NABCEP PV Installation certification

  • Familiarity with NFPA National Electrical Code

  • OSHA-10 certification

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or 10+ years of industry experience

  • Ongoing education in solar technologies and energy-related topics
