Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilledSolar Electrical Engineer.to join our client's expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects that significantly impact our environment and advance utility-scale solar PV power plants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Evaluation:

  Develop and assess electrical system requirements for utility-scale solar PV power plants, ensuring designs are optimized for performance and reliability.

• Technical Drawings:

  Create and oversee electrical layouts using AutoCAD, translating complex concepts into detailed technical drawings.

• Electrical Studies:

  Conduct comprehensive electrical studies and calculations utilizing ETAP software to validate design integrity and compliance with local codes and Owner specifications.

• Team Leadership:

  Lead and mentor a team of Electrical Designers and Engineers in the preparation and revision of electrical drawings and calculations, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

• Project Coordination:

  Participate in 'Page Turn' reviews with construction and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.

• Construction Support:

  Provide ongoing support during the project execution phase, addressing challenges and ensuring adherence to project timelines.

• Quality Assurance:

  Supervise and guide Electrical Designers and Engineers in achieving high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited university.

• Licensure:

  Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred; the ability to obtain out-of-state PE licenses is a plus.

• Experience:

  Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the solar industry.

• Technical Skills:

  Proficiency in AutoCAD and a strong understanding of electrical design principles.

• Regulatory Knowledge:

  In-depth knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) regulations.

• Analytical Skills:

  Ability to perform electrical studies using ETAP software with precision and accuracy.

• Communication Skills:

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and present to consultants, authorities having jurisdiction, and customers.

• Solar Experience:

  Experience in the design of solar PV projects is highly desired.

• Utility Knowledge:

  Familiarity with electric utilities and their operations is a plus.
